MEET BRIAN

NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

To all of my Friends, Family, and Neighbors:

I would like to take a moment of your time to officially announce my candidacy for the Jonesboro City Council Ward 1 Position 2!

Jonesboro has truly blessed me throughout my life, by meeting my wife Erica Emison while at Arkansas State University and finding a wonderful church family at Southwest Church of Christ that love our children just like their own. Bringing our wonderful boys Ridge (8) and Hayes (2) into this world at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center with their amazing NICU department which housed a nervous mom and dad and a two month early Ridge for two weeks! Providing our family with careers that we love with Erica teaching sixth grade at Jonesboro's International Studies Magnet School and myself as Chief Deposit Officer at First Community Bank.

Its a common phrase that we all have heard, "You have to learn to walk before you run." and I believe that truer words have never been spoken in regards to running for political office. Public Service has been an ideal that was ingrained in me throughout my childhood by both my mother and father. My mother being a retired school teacher with over 30 years of service, and my father who retired from the Jonesboro Police Department as Assistant Chief of Police after 18 years of dedicated service to our community. To date I've had the honor to serve on the Jonesboro Residential and Healthcare Facilities Board, East Arkansas Planning and Development District, and one of which I'm most proud because I know it would be my fathers favorite is the newly created SkyCop Commission for the City of Jonesboro's Public Safety Division.

I believe that when considering running for office its also beneficial to know all of the needs of our city and how to assist those that are in need themselves. Throughout my professional career I've been fortunate enough to have employers who realized how important it was to give back to the communities that we lived in, and over the last 12 years I've had the pleasure of being able to serve the non-profits listed below in various capacities including serving on their Board of Directors:

Jonesboro Church Health Center
Jonesboro Public School Foundation
March of Dimes
St. Bernards Charitable Foundation
St. Jude S'travaganza on Super Bowl Sunday
The Learning Center
United Way of Northeast Arkansas

Last but certainly not least, its important to understand the economic engine that keeps our community moving forward! I've been blessed throughout the past 12 years of my professional career as a banker to have worked with some of the best minds in banking and civic leadership. These individuals who are now my personal lifelong role models have always been extremely patient to have taken the time to see the investment in educating the next generation.

And, where would we be without the bridge that brings all of these entities together? The Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce and Ms. Cari Whites Leadership Class!! Alumni Class of 2015 (the best class ever)!!

Jonesboro has forever been my home and as you've read previously I've done everything possible to prepare myself to serve the Citizens of this great town. If elected I promise you that I'll give this office and the attention that you deserve.
Please feel free to contact me if I can ever be of assistance to you or your family whether I'm elected as your City Council Member or not! It's up to all of us no matter our title to make Jonesboro a great place to call home!
